When does learning become a form of procrastination?
Came across an interesting piece of insight from an article linked below stating that learning is a new form of procrastination…
This hit home! As someone who's recently added quite some certifications and degrees, I am realizing that there can be a thin line between preparing and stalling.
I actually came here today to explain how each piece of my educational journey fit into the bigger picture of my work. But after reading this article I must admit, that in some wat this hunt for knowledge may have also been a shield against impostor syndrome in some way.
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn't trade my learning journey for anything. It has brought me immense value and I already see how it enriches the quality of my offering. But regardless of its value, I can see how it might also have also delayed my leap into real action.
The last two months post-MBA, starting my business, have been truly educational in themselves. Crafting value propositions, making offers, working on first projects, understanding clients, making my first mistakes and learning from it – these are experiences that no course can fully replace, and I could have engaged with much earlier.
So the article speaks some truth: Action is the best teacher. So here I am, citing that advice — "Stop postponing. Start taking action."
